Default Cobbled Monte Carlo

Just had a customer bring in a 85 Monte Carlo on 30" wheels and its the biggest cobble job you have seen! Pics will be posted here shortly. It is scary that he drives this on the road.

WOW. That belongs on the scary steering web page. How does the steering drop cradel linkage thingy attatch to the linkage? How do the shock extensions not become pivot shackles?

My tech that pulled it in said it was scary driving it through the parking lot. We pointed out the shock mount/pivot/shackle thingy he had going on there and his response was "hmmm...I might have to put a brace or something on it". I wanted to get some more close up photos of some of the scary things on it but I didn't want to look like a dick.

The front coils really look like they don't want to be involved in the situation.

There where a lot of things that didn't want to be involved in that. Like the rear nuts and bolts in the control arms that where literally on by a couple threads, the bolts that hold the steering together that where loose, the idler arm that had 4" of vertical play to it...no exaggeration on that. There was a problem with everything he did to it. The wheels where hitting his steering knuckle extension and the sway bar when you tried to turn to far.

so, is there anyway you're authorized to call some sort of transportation agency and ask them to remove his tires ?

Holy inbred hell!!

As for the shock pivots, based on the rear control arm angles I'd say the suspension doesn't actually move enough for it to be an issue. He might as well have just welded posts in place of the springs.
