That is my thought too, even knowing it was fertilizer I would have stopped for a couple minutes since the wind was blowing away.

I read last night that the town had been told there were no chances of explosions, if that is true a lot of people would believe that.

Someone had to, the middle school is closer to the blast than that truck was.

ANFO takes a good primary and secondary make it explode.
Just 1lb of ANFO in a coffee can will blow a hole straight through 1 inch thick steel plate when it's placed under the can. Scary powerful shit.

NBC interviewed the guy and his daughter. He said basically exactly that, he was 300+ yards away and felt safe there, he expected a small explosion maybe, but nothing like that.
