Default 5.7 Pink/Blk 12v ign wire question

I have integrated a 5.7 into my 1979 CJ5.

On my 5.7, I have a pink/blk wire going to pin C1 on my ECM which denotes that it is supposed to be ECM-IGN 10 AMP "hot in Start or run" on the schematics. Do this mean it should be hot when the key is off? Because it is and I think it is mis-wired.

Tracing the wire, it is fused to constant 12v. ... powers many things but one in particular is the stop lamp switch. I'm pretty sure the stop lamps work whether the key is on or not. But it also provides 12v to things like EGR solenoid, convenience center, i/p cluster, etc..

Yeah, If it says "hot in run or start" it should not be hot at all times.

What year 5.7?

you should never tap off the ignition coil could cause issues with voltage there. you should find a fused key on power out of the fuse box and run it from there.
