This is scary as fukc .

Police are going house to house in a neighborhood, and if nobody answers they're knocking the door in. House by house by house. They're searching them "floor to attic"

Car looks suspicious? they're breaking the windows to search the car.

I've heard at least 7 cars "physically entered"

LOL.

The car with "multiple circuit boards" ended up being a geek squad car and the guy was working in a residence.

officer: request permission to enter xxxx blah blah street residence, no answer at door
dispatch or whatever: you have permission to enter the residence

then three minutes later: xxxx blah blah street is clear

yes

but busting windows of a geek squad car because of a couple computer boards on a seat? shady.

you have 1500 people hunting a 19 year old russian, and they're destroying all sorts of shit trying to find him WHILE the kid is tweeting.

This current situation is a big stretch of the Hot Pursuit doctrine.

I'm not exactly up to snuff on all the case laws, but if they're going house to house up and down the street, they aren't exactly in pursuit of the guy, they're just searching. I'd see it differently if they saw him run into a house, or a witness saw him run into a house.

The neighborhood they are tearing up right now is a "suspect area" because a car that MAY be involved was found in the neighborhood. They don't even know if that guy was ever there.

Now they're really worried because its going to start getting dark soon and it's going to be raining. They also have a ton of cops that are hitting 18 hours on shift and for some reason they can't have them work longer..

a stretch, maybe, but considering the scope or totality of events they can make it work...they believe he is in the area, they believe he is a real threat...a major threat at that, it qualifies

listening. as scanner feeds go up,. they're shut down pretty quick. I'm browsing 4chan to find links to new scanner feeds.

there is a guy in boston with four scanners set to each station and 4chan is helping him restart scanner feeds as the police/fbi shut them down.
