I'd suggest at least a 10k for a full size rig like your K5. As far as a hitch I know that somebody has made a front mount hitch for that era of gm trucks, it would just take some time searching on line. I used to do quite a bit of hitch business with taylor rental on m-139, there prices were pretty good. You may be able to fine a hitch on line, but consider the shipping & handling vs. buying local without shipping.

Most of the front hitches are only rated for 9k, so I personally wouldn't thow a winch on that exceeds the hitch with a single line pull.

Ok.. Need advice. Best bang for the buck. 10,000 lb winch. Synthetic or not? Do not mind spending the money as long as I am getting the best options without being stupid. Lol.. Thanks, David
