Default SHTF: What would you do if NK hits YOUR bank?

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news...ectid=10876056
http://dailycaller.com/2013/04/05/no...-for-cyberwar/

I made the mistake of reading the two articles directly before bedtime last night, so naturally my brain wouldn't shut off for several hours afterward. The upside of last night's insomnia is that I've done a little redistribution of my banked money, as well as taking a look at my "stockpile" to make sure I could last a few days if one of, or all, of my banks went down.

So here's the scenario: Let's pretend for a minute that NK's propaganda about their "cyber warfare unit" isn't bullshit, and your bank was hit with a massive computer failure. Best case scenario, you're unable to access your ATM, your bank card, and your money for 5 days while they rebuild. Worst case, your bank records are lost, and your account balance is now $0.

What would you do? How quickly could you recover?
Do you currently carry/ keep a decent amount of cash? How about other valuables?

Not worried. I would survive and carry on, but I would be pissed if my account couldn't be recovered! I keep hard copy bank statements so I should be good. Recovery is the furthest thing from my mind.

your bank account is protected. Everyone should always have cash stashed at home for emergencies.

I was waiting for someone to say this, thankfully it didn't take too long, because I have to leave for work.

Adding into the "scenario"... if the shit REALLY hits the fan, will cash be worth anything? I'm thinking Red Dawn/WWIII type stuff here, but will we really be dealing with paper currency if it gets real deep? Those are the questions that my mind was feeding me at 0300, as I'm trying to get to sleep.

if NK is smart, they won't go for banks or CU's. they'll go after the processing network of the fed that moves $$ between institutions.

I'm not worried about NK. ~ they are all talk & don't have the technology to attack our banks.
Banks have backups.
I have statements.
I can live a few weeks/days till the banks are back on line.

if a red dawn situation happened money will be the last thing your worried about. You will want to have a bugout shelter in your backyard, with food, RPGS, 50cals, 500 man army of soldiers, and multiple humvees.

If banks were to implode why would a cash supply at home matter? Wouldn't the USD be worth next to nothing? As far as surviving if I don't have payments to make I don't need any cash. Outside of fuel for transportation I am pretty well set to survive living in my home. Food shortage would be my main concern if power was to go out as my deep freezer would spoil. I would think with running it on a gen set for a few hour per day would keep it for a long time. I see how it would be a major problem but survival in that situation seems pretty basic.

at the time when the banks are kaput, we'll be buying our fuel (if they can still get it out of the ground) and food not with $$ but with chocolate bars and chickens.
