Default Drummond Island Tight and Twisties trail

It's gone, destroyed by loggers. Info is on glfwda.com site and Michigan Wheelers site. This sucks! It was one of the best trails on the island.

If they destroy all the good trails the 4x4 community will stop lobbying to keep trails open.

x2 looks like we were too late to enjoy its natural beauty.

I know we need timber, but why in the hell do they cut it off a island? pretty stupid that we as a state stick money in our pockets to let these asshole pillage the forest.

I'd still recommend going, there are still miles of good trails there, plus Turtle Ridge Offroad park.

That was my favorite public trail on the island. Very sad to hear it is gone.

Time to ban loggers. I have a home, no need to build more. Those bastards!!!!

I have yet to wheel on Drummond but have snowmobiled there.

We are anxiously awaiting some administrative review steps at DNR to be completed - Tim (Muddypaws) is working on it, along with a handful of others from GLFWDA. But no matter what the outcome, nothing can replace that trail, it was one of my favorites too.

Another Sad Panda here..... agreed that was one of our favorite trails as well. Guess I won't get the chance to try a bigger rig than a Wrangler.

Nothing will be done. Money talks and the loggers contribute more to the state than we do.

A large area was clear cut and the markers were gone as well. Several looked for quite sometime and couldn't find anything. Even if we found the markers the branches and crap in the way would have kept us from driving further. The snow didn't make it any easier finding the trails.
My first time wheeling at Drummond and Michigan sure left me with a bad impression of loggers.
I hope a new trail can be added to connect the trails back together.

I think that's a pretty accurate description of everyone's first trip wheeling Drummond.

The first time I ever hit the trails there was like DOA 8 or so years ago. I was astounded at the level of destruction the loggers caused.

Ever since then I've always been when we get a bad name as rolling eco disasters for spinning our tires a little on a hill, yet the loggers clear cut acres at a time and leave 3' deep trenches in the "roads" they use.
