Default Taxing The Rain

Just when you think they already taxed us to death, they find another way to collect more from Americans.

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Don't ask me what I want it for
If you don't want to pay some more
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me.

And the Beatles recorded this about Britain in 1966.

Look to Britain to see where we are headed.

The problem with these discussions based on those type of web sites is that they only present one side of the story, and do it in an heavily biased way.

I would say that even the idea of suggesting that rain could be taxed is something only a liberal could think would be a great idea for revenue. Besides liberal web sites also present what they want with biased and lies, our president does it all the time.

Absolutely liberal web sites do it just as much as conservatives ones. I did not intend my comment to be specifically about one or the other.

And calling it a "rain tax" it part of that biased presentation.

It's a fee based on how much storm water runs off your property, to pay for dealing with storm water that runs off your property.

Based on the amount of rain that falls on your property.

How is that not a rain tax?

Because as far as I can tell it's not based in any way with how much rain actually falls on you property. It's based on how much "impervious surfaces" you have on your property. So you could call it a pavement tax if you wanted.

It's a tax to pay for dealing with storm runoff, something every community has to do, based on how much storm runoff is likely to come from your property.

Or are you an expert on Maryland environmental laws also?
