79 CJ7 Crawler Project
I'm getting out of the sport guys so everything I have is going. I Bought the Jeep in Texas 21 years ago and was going to be my sons but things the way they are I'll help him find a new one if he decides to get into crawling. The bad thing about what I have is that its almost completely apart. You will absolutely have to drag it onto a car trailer to get it home. The good thing is that I'm willing to help as much as I can except to drive it to you. I don't. currently have any photos because of the spread of the parts around my garage but I can assure you that the body is in great shape for a CJ let alone one that's 34 years old! I did a complete body off rebuild back in 98' and only drove it in winter to have some snow fun so salt rust was never an issue. It does have some bumbs and scapes and some small rust spots since then but its all solid and "Jeep Steel". I'll try to over the weekend attempt to clean out the garage and collect the parts in a central spot so I can take some pictures but for now I'll list out what you get in the deal.
79 CJ7 Tub on frame but disconnected
Solid frame with no rust but front spring hangers cut for a 4 link conversion
AMC 360 with the small 51cc chamber heads rebuilt with Edelbrock intake carb and cam in '97 with a .030 over bore and 10:1 pistons and heads mild ported
Dana front and rear 60's gutted but 35 spline axle shafts for the front (missing 1 outer stub)
T19 4spd with granny lo rebuilt with new syncros, bearings, new 1st gear and Novak short main shaft in '96
Dana 300 with twin sticks
heavy duty driveshafts front and rear
4 wheel discs with vented rear rotors (new rear rotors)
Headman in frame ceramacoat headers but they need to be recoated
4" lift springs from a Grand Cherokee (I wanted low CG with good flex)
14 New 7/8" QA1 Heim joints in lefts and rights with tube adapters and high misalignment adapters, these are the small hole 1" ball and adapters no use 5/8" bolts for mounting, ultra strong enough for good rock crawling
24' of 2"x.430 DOM tubing for bottom links
3/8" plate big enough for a skid plate with lower mounting brackets for links
Front knuckles hubs and rear hubs powder coated chrome
Front and rear Bluetorch fab diff covers with mounting tabs (New last October never mounted)
Hydralic orbital valve with return to center
Large double ended Hydralic Ram
Spun aluminum water tank about 20 gallons to be converted for fuel tank
Billet steel flywheel
Centerforce stage 2 clutch
I'm sure I'm missing a few things but that's all I can think of off hand.
I would like to get $2500 for everything. The joints alone would set someone back about $350 and the tube adapters and misalignment adapters another $200. The front axles should be worth about 600-1000 for the pair so I don't think Im off my mark on a price.
I also started to build a sweet small block Mopar to swap into this beast but again, I'm getting out of the sport so it will also be up for sale but under a different thread so look for "408 Mopar parts" and check it out. If your interested in the whole Jeep and the 408 stuff I could make a deal.
