Default 700r4 1 to 2nd shift issue

Just got a 1990 chevy z71 short box and most of the time the transmission shifts great. Stomp the gas shifts nice and crisp. Now sometimes during daily just cruising driving when it shifts from 1 to 2nd the truck bogs down a lil bit drops like 400 rpms for a sec. Driving me absolutely insane. Tranny fluid looks great. Tv cable adjusted right , shifts right at about 20mph during normal driving and about 25 when i floor it. First time driving one of these so i don't know if the 1 to 2nd gear change is steep enough its normal for these tranny's to do this. I've searched and searched on line cannot find much on this at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 1984 chevy with a 700r4 had this type of problem for a while. Took a look at it and over time the valve inside the trans gets stuck and sometimes it shifts really funny. Mine was shifting every 10 MPH which was random. I just stopped on the throttle and held it wide open until i reached about 70 MPH and did that over and over, and it stopped doing it. Could give it a try but no promises.
