I didn't know foo back then (yes that's his name, not sure on the spelling), so I had never eaten at his restaurant. The rest are particularly bad chains or buffet's similar to what I've had the misfortune and stomach cramps from elsewhere so I too have always skipped chinese in Fenton (the kids dont' like it anyway)

some friends dragged us to bangkok peppers and we've had good food and decent service every time we've been (maybe a dozen in the two years or so they've been open?). perhaps we've just been lucky - it's not even a monthly happenstance that we go there because again the kids won't eat anything on their menu either

20 posts and no mention of Beale Street? Very good BBQ, nice atmosphere, good Michigan brews. It's behind the Sunoco station at North Rd and 23.

I'm a fan of Lucky's Steakhouse(good food and big portions), and Sagebrush is good for big portions of decent Mexican and beer. Lots of other pretty good places in the area, but those 3 are generally my go-to restaurants when in the area.

It'll be great once the Clarkston Union gets their place set up in the old firehouse. Any locals hear any updates on that lately? I didn't see any signs of activity the last few times I drove by.

LoL. Was just reading through this post thinking I couldn't believe Beal Street hadn't been mentioned. Gotta live a BBQ joint that is attached to a gas station.

Beale Street is pretty good, but seems overpriced, and its hidden behind a gas station.

THere's been a lot of slow moving construction activity going on there for months....no idea when they'll be done though

Damn! Any idea what'll be there now? I knee the MBC deal had fallen through but haven't heard any further updates in quite a while.

They(the city) decided to add all kinds of expenses to the deal after the purchase agreement of the building. In the tune of millions, the union said "blow me" or something along those lines. This coming from the owner of the unions mouth...not third party...so unless the city drops their BS they aren't coming

they are slowly changing their name over to The Laundry.
good food. nice setting. great breads which they get from a local bakery about 4 blocks away. the bakery, cannot remember the name, is huge yet hand crafting. they too have a nice coffee shop with awesome bakery items including cake, cookies and pies.
the Fenton Hotel it also very good. not really a hotel any longer. excellent menu, service, food. perhaps a little pricey for many but worth the drive. prefer the atmosphere in the bar & grill v. the dining room.

the bakery, "crust" is a spin off of the laundry. and last I heard they still source quite a bit from zingerman's down in ann arbor as well as "crust" - which btw makes good breakfast breads/bagels and pastries as well

Want to go talk to the owner of the union sometime? Maybe the city dropped their BS? I have friends that are friends with the owner of the union. I will ask them today...

Just made a call and they are back on, they are finishing a add agency in clarkston and then are going to work on the fire hall. They are doing some work there but it's a back burner project right now. They are also starting a Mexican joint
