Unhappy Coworker calls into work that his wife died.....

Apparently an asthma attack followed by a heart attack......
She was only in her 40's.

Never know when you're going to go......

Damn. That sucks. I think about this stuff more often since I'm in my late 30s and still eat and drink like a 23 year old.

2nd Asthma attack death I have heard of in the last few weeks. Scares me, as I have moderately bad asthma myself. But I never felt like it couldn't be controlled without meds. I have always wondered in these cases if these people don't have appropriate meds on hand, or if the attack doesn't respond.

Lost my Uncle to this exact same situation a few months ago.

Severe asthma attack triggered a heart attack and off he went.

sudden young deaths are depressing.

had a highschool classmate / acquaintance drop on the ice at Lakeland Ice Arena in his late 20's. undiagnosed congenital heart defect or an aneurysm I can't recall specifically as I had dropped out of that hockey league and had lost touch with him for a couple of years so it was "grapevine news" for me

last summer a good friend's best friend/best man died at 39 due to complications from a hernia :/ (also former classmate)

in fact, now that I'm in my lower 40s I'm seeing a couple deaths per year it seems like from highschool days on facebook, and I don't have that many classmates on FB, it's one of those 6 degrees of separation type of thing

x2 My dad had a heart attack in his 40's so that's always on the back of my mind. He drank and smoked and ate like shit, I don't smoke and rarely drink but I don't eat as good as I should. Storys like these make you rethink getting that jumbo fries.

RIP
