A tie rod is not a heim joint or a rod end. Rod ends are lubricated by the Teflon liner that is injected in during manufacturing, at least the better three piece ones.
Link angle decided for me that its going to take some heat. Need to make a small heat shield, but about 4 inches away from header down pipe, but a good foot from the engine.
If you can find out what the heat rating on the Teflon liner is from the manufacturer and go from there. It may be higher than you think......or make a small heat shield :sonicjay:
