I saw where you were going. Also, if your friend is a devout Christian, I think he would understand it's not my plan, It's God's. I could draw an elaborate picture about the 'saints' who have gone before and thier life long sacrifices they've made in service to God but I'm pretty sure it would be lost on you. Needless to say, compared to others that God has called, not having sex is a drop in the bucket. That's why I mentioned that thier faith would probably be much larger then mine. I got married early (for our culture) for a reason.

Isn't just thinking about having sex (lust) the equivalent of the physical act, in God's eyes?

Question....

Quote:
And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. Leviticus 11:7-8
Answer.....
Lev 5:1-5

Quote:
" 'If anyone sins because they do not speak up when they hear a public charge to testify regarding something they have seen or learned about, they will be held responsible. 'If anyone becomes aware that they are guilty—if they unwittingly touch anything ceremonially unclean (whether the carcass of an unclean animal, wild or domestic, or of any unclean creature that moves along the ground) and they are unaware that they have become unclean, but then they come to realize their guilt; or if they touch human uncleanness (anything that would make them unclean) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt; or if anyone thoughtlessly takes an oath to do anything, whether good or evil (in any matter one might carelessly swear about) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the LORD a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering [fn]; and the priest shall make atonement for them for their sin.
When a sin offering was made the animal was sacrificed as the replacement for the person. They would place their hand on the head of the animal and that would transfer the sin to the animal. This is also known as Atonement.

Questions......
Leviticus 19:27

Quote:
" 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

Leviticus 19:19

Quote:
Keep my decrees. " 'Do not mate different kinds of animals. " 'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. " 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.
Answer.......
Leviticus 18:3-5

Quote:
You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD.
Oh look, there is context! God didn't want them to act like other people because God knew his people would fall into the temptation that came from those cultures. I suppose you could argue that we shouldn't have long hair, but then we get into the trumping discussion that Paul has in the NT about being "every thing to every man". 1 Corinthians 9

A good site about the difference in Offerings - http://www.realtime.net/~wdoud/topics/levitsac.html
Luke 16:18 and 1 Corinthians 7:2

- I've seen people protest both of those. They may not have a million man march but they fight hard to keep couples together or apart (depending on the situation). You just have to look.

You're quoting Jesus on that. He's proving my point that the OT law is impossible to fulfill on our own. In this particular argument he his further restricting the law that has already been in place for a few hundred years.

Please lay out for me your best possible plan for a homosexual to go by in order to stay in Jesus's good graces.

Celibacy. He called his disciples to be celibate. While priests aren't a great example, they are also called to it. It's possible to live with out sex. I've done it, since I've been married, for 9 months in two occasions. I survived just fine. I know of plenty of non-married Christian men my age who are still pure.

In the sermon that you quoted about lust, Christ was proving to the religious leaders that even if they outwardly appeared to obey the law they inwardly still did not. That we needed something different. Christ was that something.

Again with someone thinking i'm liberal, seesh

You just made my point for me. Without citing religion there isn't any explanation why to not allow gay marriage. If you simply don't agree with it, so what; that doesn't mean it should be outlawed. It's not going to change any straight persons lives one bit. It seems that the people that always run back to the religion argument are the ones that only seem to follow what the bible says when it suits them. Those people crying about jesus hating fags are the same people that get drunk, have premarital sex, and live in wedlock. Just because the bible condemns those things doesn't seem to stop anyone, but when it's gay marriage; "OMG, THE BIBLE SAYS"

Why shoudn't it be called marriage? So what your saying is that they can get married as long as we don't call it marriage. Wow, your the sexuality equivalent of a racist bigot...Although obamaship is pretty funny

Why not call all marriages, whether between a man/woman, man/man, woman/woman a Union, partnership, or obamahip? Oh yea, I forgot a man and woman getting married is sacred, right because THAT'S reason.

The definition of marriage is, 1 man and 1 woman. I do not believe that the homosexual has the right to redefine marriage.
They can call it what ever they want but it is not marriage. What they are after is having the benefits of being married as a man and a woman. Having the government give them the same $$$benefits as married male and female couples.

It will give you a sound understanding of why Christians do and think and follow Christ the way we do.

Instead of defining marriage by religious terms since it isn't why doesn't the secondary Abraham based religion get their own term. Did you miss the part about news getting married long before Jesus around so therefore we should let the Jews or whoever they potentially picked the marriage concept up define what marriage is? It's an inconvenient truth for the uneducated historically. The Jews also believed originally not one man and woman as so many claimed was the original intent but potentially one man and 10 women and I think if that man died his brother got his wives. Thank goodness Mike has no brother.
Also Adam and Eve weren't married but she was his baby mama.
