I have been buying small amounts at coinbase for sometime. I haven't invested much as I still don't fully understand it. Still trying to figure out how to buy LTC.

I believe you have to sell some BTC first, then you are able to buy LTC. Don't quote me though. I could be wrong...

I'm not sure if you hold LTC or if you hold BTC but, if you happen to hold LTC, this is the biggest news you could possible hope for:

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2013/...mpany-limited/

The fact that they chose not to accept BTC and instead jumping to LTC is pretty incredible.

Have an account at BTC-e.com? Do you know how to transfer Bitcoin? If so, you just transfer your Bitcoin from your coinbase wallet to your BTC-e wallet and then you can either exchange it for Litecoin or you can sell it for USD and then buy Litecoin. You use the buttons at the top of the page to change what you want to buy or sell.

It changes periodically but normally you get more LTC if you sell your BTC for USD and then buy LTC.

If you have questions PM me.

BTC-E is really killing people on the transaction fees. If you are moving hundreds of LTC at a time, the .1LTC fee doesn't hurt, but if you are selling a couple at a time, it's rough. THey really need to change that in reflection of the current market price of Litecoin

I agree. We will hopefully be mining Litecoin in the next 2 days and the fees are going to suck at first when we are moving a lot of coins around to start buying more machines.

Friendly advice to anyone still on the fence. Mt. Gox is a very large trading company for Bitcoin and they are going to start trading Litecoins in the very near future. I have a pretty good feeling that the price of Litecoin is going to go way up when Mt. Gox gets Litecoin rolled out. A good amount of profit is going to be made pretty fast!

Interesting. I'm not sure what I'm holding either.

Dropping 25K on a risky venture versus buying a house? You probably made the right move. Bottom line, in something like this, if you can't afford to lose it, don't do it.

Do you understand how difficulty ratings work? Breakeven points on Radeon 7950's are currently four months, and if LTC continues to climb, and miners continue to mine, the difficulty will make it impossible to turn a profit unless you have a dedicated mining rig that consumes very very little power.

Unless you are betting LTC is going to go up in price over the next year..

Yeah I know the difficulty has been skyrocketing since LTC broke $10. Even with difficulty where it's at now we should be over 30 LTC/month. I understand my ROI may not come as fast as most people think but I am betting that Litecoin is going to keep increasing in price. I get bored with trading and I would much rather play around with computers. I still have all my BTC and LTC in the market. And if it doesn't work out I am going to be able to build a decent gaming computer from our hardware! Lol
