Most of the "retired" people I know are poor. Most of the rich people I know still work.

If I had $10,000 in BTC, I wouldn't be retired. If I had $10,000,000 in BTC, I wouldn't be retired. Not sure about you, but I go crazy without having a purpose in life. Even after five days of vacation I can't wait to get back to work.
so you sold all your bitcoins and fixed your jeep?

We differ on this. Would I retire from what I am currently doing? Absolutely. Would I retire completely? Initially yes, because there are many things I would like to do that I have neither the time or money to do. Things like spending a month in the Grand Canyon or Alaska. Things like spending days fishing with my elderly father.

I suspect after a time I may want to do something again, but I don't see it. Is your dad 100% retired or partially?

He sells generators for a living. For some it is a job, but for him it is more like a hobby.

Don't be mad bro, I didn't initially pose the question, i just followed up with it to see if you had made enough to retire on trading your internet coins.

of course you wouldn't, because its not 10 Million USD. Be real. Which would you rather have. the same amount in bitcoin, or USD?

And yes, you would "retire". You might still be selling something, but it would be speedboats in Miami, not generators in Clarkston.

Exactly.

If I had "arbitrary number of dollars where I wouldn't have to "worry" about money anymore" I wouldn't be working my day job, I'd probably be a lifty at the ski hill, or a snowboard instructor or whatever other job that I could pass the time with, like professional bobber watcher, or maybe even a skilled lawn chair security device

on a slightly related note, we met a couple who "retired" and bought an RV, their job now is to travel the US and "review" mountain biking trails. Similar to your job, that would "suck"

Was it to Tonka Toy? I heard he is looking to buy a generator.

I'm with you, but at Kelly's age, and no kids, I could see not 100% retiring, but I would be taking a few vacations like you said LOL
