Default Looking for a winch?

FYI... Harbor Freight has the Badlands 12k winch on sale for $200 off, now $299... and you can use the current 25% off coupon on top of that. Yeah, it's HF, yeah it's not a Warn, but for $225... It's a steal

you sure you can use the 25% off on top of the sale price?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. For $225 I probably would buy one.

Those 25% coupons can be found in most car magazines. Even my ESPN the magazine this week has a 25% off coupon.

honestly, there are better deals in the magazine coupons than with the emails or inside track club.

You should buy one..... you need it at the dunes.

The HF winches are good entry level, occasional use winches. But, you will fall asleep waiting for them.

I haven't been able to figure out why you can buy an 8,000lb winch for less money than the popular 3,000 and 4,500 lb atv winches. It seems ridiculous.

I agree, I got mine second hand on a bumper i bought. While slow it has never failed to get myself or others out of trouble.

It's currently 399.99. There is always a coupon out for 299.99. You can't double coupons, you can't use a "25% off purchase". Coupon with other coupons, you can't use coupons on sidewalk sale prices. So no the winch is 299.99.

I will bet that more people buy 8k lb winches than 3.5k lb winches. I see it kinda like truck tires. A 33" tall tire costs more if its for a 17" rim than a 16" rim. Sure the 17" rim tire has less material which should make it cheaper, but since 16" is the standard size they make a lot more of them bringing the piece price down.

Supply and demand can really effect price?

It may also be cheaper to build larger winches, they are more standard so parts may be cheaper to design and produce.

Just thinking out loud.

You can buy an atv winch at HF for under $100.
