Default Ram Mount - X Grip

Going to take a trip from Cincy to Gettysburg, PA this summer and plan on getting a mount for the Phone/GPS/music machine. I've used ram mounts before but this is the new one for catch all sizes.

Anyone use the Ram X-grip?

Motocycle? With the rubber mount, the rubber ball and the rubber grips I think it will not vibrate much.

Just worried about it dropping the phone at 70mph on the highway

Haven't used the X-grip, however, I've used the RAM cradles for my gps and they are great.

You didnt mention motorcycle. If your bike is smooth and the roads are smooth youd probably be ok but I woukdnt put too much faith in it though. Just buy the real cradle for your device and you know itll be good to go.

I have never had my phone fall out of the x grip in my jeep but if it did its not like it would be s big deal. On my bikes I use ram mounts all the time and love them but its always with real cradles or aqua boxes.

The aqua boxes arent perfect but if you need a waterproof place to stick your phone they work. What kind of phone? I have an aqua box that is too small for my new phone id sell you...

You could also run a tank bag with and put the phone in the map pocket. I built a tank box and I'm going to try this:

the tablet is attached to the box using heavy duty velcro attached to a slip case.

Welcome to 1989. But yes itll fit it. I had my Bionic in it.

On second thought it might fit a nexus too but it would be close. I think its a medium size aqua box. Specs are on rams site.
