No, it's not. But it doesn't need a $5,000-$15,000 trans to live

If you or your engine builder have enough brains to built a 700 hp engine. You have enough brains to know what trans you need to run to support it.

I Just built a 786hp dyno proven small block chevy, I will have over $12,000 in this motor by the time it is in the car. To build a 700 inline 6 I wouldn't want to know how much that cost. so a $5000 trans is not that big of a deal

We've ran higher HP SBC's than that with th350's that had a total investment of way less than $5,000. Why would you spend twice as much $ than you have to? Heck, you could spend $1,000-$1,500 (or less) on a th350 or th400 and it will live all day behind 700HP.
I guess I just don't see the point in spending more than you need to?

I didnt say I was going to do that, I am running a glide. He built the motor and doesnt know what he needs to run. All I am saying if you have the knowledge to build that type of motor, you know what trans you need to run. My .02

I think the OP is trying to get a game plan, which is why he is asking?

Not to sidetrack, but what are the specs on your SBC pitbull? What heads/ci/etc. are you using?

Sounds nice! What's the plans for it? What RPM were you making peak HP at?
Sounds a lot like dads motor was, but we had to change heads this year. One of the heads cracked down where they couldn't get in to weld it up right :-(
