Default Has anyone ever been to Fiji?

The wife and I are thinking about Fiji as a vacation spot for our ten year anniversary. We have narrowed it down between Fiji and Hawaii. We have been to Hawaii before. But we know nothing about Fiji. Any help would be great.

My wife and I have been all over the Caribbean and we have looked in to Fiji but the cost of a week trip to Fiji we can take 2 trips to the Caribbean.

That being said Fiji looks like an awesome place to vacation. Maybe someday we will go.

The only place in the carribean we have been is the Bahamas and we didn't care for that. Anyplace else you would recommend? We like Hawaii but have been there three times. Also now that I research a little more tahati and thailand look nice also.

From what i have re-searched and talked to others about, Fiji and Tahiti are very similar, but Fiji is cheaper as it's not as much of a tourist destination as Tahiti.

I just want to go to one of them, and stay in one of the huts on stilts over the water.

That's what my wife wants to do. She thinks it'd be sweet.

We always do all inclusive resorts.

We have been to Aruba 3 times had a blast rented a jeep all 3 times. The south side of the island is rock and red dirt 2 tracks so we went everywhere I thought I could with a stock TJ. Food at the resort was great and the people on the island are very nice.

Jamaica was ok. The resort was awesome (sandals nagrill) but we didn't leave the resort except for a couple boat tours. The island is not the safest and the people at the resort don't recommend leaving with out a guide.

Saint Lucia was our favorite next to Aruba. We also stayed at a sandals resort. The island is a rainforest so very humid but not in a bad way. Took a land rover tour thru the rainforest. Also did a zip line tour witch took 2.5 hours to go thru 17 lines and some cool hiking. People of the island were very friendly and the open air market was cool to see because of all the hand made stuff for sale.

Antigua was a nice trip but not quite as nice as Saint Lucia. It is also a rainforest type clement. We stayed at a sandals resort. The people here were nice but didn't seem as nice as some of the others. We were here a couple years ago when a hurricane went thru and hit Saint Lucia and Puerto Rico so the weather was not the greatest and sandals moved people from Saint Lucia to Antigua so the resort was full but it didn't seem like it was full.
