5k shouldn't be too bad with a slower pace. A few years ago I signed up to run a half marathon with a bunch of people. I had very little training, maybe one 5 mile run a week for the month before and didn't smoke for two days before (pack a day) about the same size as you and still finished it just under 2 hours. Granted I was 21 and couldn't move the next day, it can be done.

Just pace yourself and you'll be fine. Walk-run-walk-run is your friend.

You'll probably do fine. 5K is easy.

The bigger question is why are you running on St. Pattys day? You're supposed to start drinking at the wee hours of the morn.

Depends if you're a follow through type.
Don't walk! Just do a slow jog if needed. If you walk you will walk more........
45min if you're a follow through don't quit type.
1.5hrs if you walk.

45 minutes for a 3 mile run??? Are you kidding. That's a 15 minute mile (pretty much a walking pace).

I trained a little for my first 5k last year. I've never ran for fun because I always thought it was for fags, because I played other sports.

Ran 2 miles or so every other day or so. My training attitude wasn't great, I finished it in about 26 or 28 minutes. I'm going to do it again this year.

I am 26 and about 175 ish

I'm 26, 190lbs, 5'9". what grade are you in now?

Place your bets on how I'm going to do.
If you like your girlfriends butt then I think you will be fine. I think if you like butts in general you will do well early but it's all about what drives you to finish to the end.

Pick a 20-something chick with a great ass running a little faster than you. Stay behind her and keep staring at her ass. The 5k will go by quickly and you will finish quicker than you would otherwise.

It's tomorrow and you haven't been training.
It's okay if you walk it.
