I don't think we'll see the reggie bush of usc, but he did rush for 1,000 yards in Miami. If he can give us 750 yards on 188 carries and rest leshour I'm good with it.

If he can help us run the clock out in the 4th quarter I'm also good with that.

I think it might help the lions get the hype that they need to become better. I do agree that the line needs work, but with this deal it might just be what they need to get the ball rolling.

Actually, its more like 6 or 7. Lions ran 73% of their plays last year with 6 men or less in the box.

Glover Quin just signed also..

EDIT: Now they are saying Quin deal isn't final/signed.

X2 Until they put together a serious line, it won't matter who is in the backfield. Stafford will spend half his time running for his life and Bush will be running into the backs of his blockers just like the last 15 years.

Did you know that the Lions offensive line was ranked 10th in the nfl in pass protection based on failure per drop back? Failure defined as incomplete pass or sack or interception.

The ravens 19th and the 49'ers 28th.

The lions ranked #1 in sack per drop back frequency in the nfl in 2012.

They actually ranked 15th in run blocking as well.

I don't disagree that the line couldn't use improvement, but statistically they have performed above average in most areas.

the dude better help their red zone. They don't need more total offense, but they do need a "finisher"

this has alot to do with the defense know their going to throw the ball. over 700 attemps, i say thats pretty good.

5-0 or 6-0 with javid best

9-17 without.

Reggie Bush can run tougher yards than best.
Catch as well or better than best.
Is almost as fast as best (reggie ran like a 4.4 in the combine, and yes I realize he has 8 years of miles on his legs now)
Doesn't get concussions
Won't be USC reggie bush
Won't be NO Saints Reggie Bush
Will be better than Best ever was
Compliments leshour well

IF reggie and leshour can find a good balance and the offense can eat up clock in the 4th quarter with a lead and finish out a game i'll be happy with the signing.

They signed a safety, re-signed Houston, delmas should be healthy.... I am hoping now they grab some linebackers and corners in the draft.

Well, football is a team sport, and the O-Line is one small part of the team.

They still blocked well enough to allow stafford to get sacked less and complete more passes. Sure, he may have faced only 6 in the box since they couldn't run and defenses were double covering calvin, but that just meant he was throwing into tighter coverage or more coverage so the line had to block for longer to allow receivers to get open.

he really hasn't been pushed too hard the last few years, so that shouldn't be a worry for a few more years.

just over 200 carries the last two years....

Only has 967 career carries, he should be good for about another 600-800. If we can get 3-4 good years out of him that would be fine by me.
