Default Whats Smarter? Cats or Dogs?

I dont have anything against cats, I have one in my apartment at school, but I think dogs are smarter, they can actually interpret things...

i think dogs are smarter at doing tasks but they are pack animals and thrive on taking orders from the alpha.

Cats are great at sleeping and being aloof and asking for food, but their not dumb. Cats are solitary animals. I once saw on tv this russian dude who is the cat whisperer and he has about 10 cats and they could do every trick a circus dog can do. Jump rope, pedal a mini bike, jump through hoops. a kitty pyramid, one even did a walk across a balance beams two things in paralell with his front paws and his body hanging down. It was quite amazing so i guess you can train a cat to do dang near anything.

my cat can play games, if you ask to play goalie he sets up by a door and you can though a bouncy ball with a bell in it and he will do crazy flips to block it. As long as you throw the ball he will sometimes even catch it between his paws. Hes a pretty cool cat.

he knows how things work (he knows how to open door knobs he just doesnt have thumb to turn it, he will climb on a table in our den and paw at the knob because he knows thats what makes the door open)

I love dogs, but they will eat there own poop:tonka:

Not sure if dogs are smarter, but I have yet to see a guard cat. My Harley's, house, and custom vehicles are well protected by my two dogs. You come in the yard, I know it. Go after my family, sorry for your loss!
For me, the only choice is a dog, as mine know to watch the property when I am not there. They are great protection, are part of the family, and earn their keep.

I would have to say dogs are smarter.. if you think about it they have blind eye dogs that can take people around set there tables everything. I think you can train dogs much easier then you can train cats also...

Cats just meow and follow you around and are lazy..

dogs are probably smarter, and dogs are way more fun then cats, i have 2 cats and they just hide all day and the only time you see them is when they are running from one place to another. dogs however always are around.

Dogs seems to be much smarter but I did know a cat that would sit for dog treats, maybe they have potential but just don't care.

I think cats are the smarter. So much smarter in fact that they get us to feed them and buy them stuff for just sitting around doing nothing.
