I have a question......

Does anyone know what size threads are on the radiator for the transmission cooler? I need an adapter to go to an, I know ford doesn't make the "push on" fitting anymore the thread size is around 11/16. I know that is should be metric which would be around 18 mm which would make sense but I don't have anything 18x1.5 to test it with.

I forgot to say that everything shown in the previous photos was done at an apartment garage/parking lot. While I was on my co-op with Kohler Engines...

Here was a video of the first start after the rebuild with no turbo or manifold.

I have been back at school since mid January and this is why I haven't got much done.

I had a really bad powersteering leak when I checked it out I found this

So I removed just the reservoir and soldered it back up.

Repainted and replaced the accessible O-rings. Problem solved

Only real problem I have had.

Default How to fix a 6.0 powerstroke

Here's my mileage log

MPG

9/27/2013198606
10/10/2013199209 603 31.55619.10888579 Breaking the truck in
10/12/2013199817 608 27.34322.23603847 Round trip to Sheboygan WI

I was pleasantly surprised about the 22.2 Mpg. I feel there are 4 reasons I am getting such great mpg

1. I have the timing advanced and with the big bowl pistons and stock injectors the spray is still hitting within the bowl.

2. I have a manual with 3.54 I believe

3. I had an head plate put on the engine block before honing the bores

4. I have a huge exhaust housing which sucks for spool up time but is great for mpgs (21cm^2)

I would not rebuild the engine before using it, too many variables

Make as many parts as you can, If I were do to in again the only thing I would buy is the adapter plate, the motor mounts from the various manufactures would be easy to replicate and improve on.

I would definitely use a manual or a non electric automatic

I doubt having a torque plate installed during honing is giving you notable MPG gains

sweet build though!!!

Nothing wrong with the VE pump
