Default Ejs 2016

Had an absolute blast in Moab this year. We were able to hit some of the trails we missed out on last year and also hit the ones we really liked again. This is a must do, bucket list, trip. So many things to do and see, from all of the different rigs to different vendors and personalities you end up seeing on the trails. Some of the most beautiful terrain to wheel. Nothing gets your heart pumping more than some of the trails that go along the cliffs edge with 400-1300' drops.
Carnage in our group (anywhere from 4-10 rigs) was fairly minimal. We had a broke rear r&p, steering line, Atlas cable shift cable and a few extra leaks here and there.
Tons of pictures were taken. I'll start by posting a few. Would've posted some during the week but we were having way too much for the inter webs, plus service is real hit and miss until you get back into town.

Heading down Kane Creek Road - Colorado River to the right. This road leads to Moab Rim, Pritchett Canyon, Cliffhanger and Kane Creek. Once you turn on to this road you realize you're truly in Moab and it's going to be a great week.

Moab Rim - Z Turn

Hells Revenge - Tip-Over challenge

After climbing out of Pritchett Canyon heading to Behind The Rocks. Full moon in the sky over the mountains.

Nick on Helldorado

Moab Rim

Group shot

Dale on Green Day

Once again an incredible trip! I took a total of about 40 pics on my phone. Nothing can give the colors and the elevation and inclines the true perspective as being there, but I will say that Pauls pics come close. lol Awesome pics as usual Paul.

More on this pic. On Sunday, we ran Moab Rim and ended up meeting Gerald Lee from Savvy Offroad. He came over to thank us for moving out of their way so they could take pics. That turned into a half hour bullshit session. This pic was on Monday on Pritchett Canyon. As we pulled in, John Currie pulled in behind us and the Savvy guys behind them, all for a fun day on the trail. Gerald recognized us and struck up more conversation. And unknown to us, Larry Nickell from Yukon was ahead of us. Consequently, we ended up wheeling most of the day with these guys. Gerald went out of his way to chat with us and more than once complimented us on our rigs and driving ability.

The guy on the top left in the burnt red sweatshirt walking to the left is John Currie. The guy on the bottom right in the black jacket and hat is Gerald Lee. John Currie was spotting people who struggled but as you can see, he had faith in Tab and didn't stick his nose in just to be bossy. And, as you can see, these guys carry their own professional photographers with them.

These legends of wheeling were simple down to earth guys who just wanted to have a fun day on the trail. They were not pretentious or bossy, rather just boys with their toys. It was a great day!

Notice how nonchalant Nick is walking away from Paul as if saying "fuck him".

Nick actually fell in the hole underneath Paul's jeep. Then cried about his knees hurting for the rest of the week.

My wife in the same spot a few years ago after I tried to work her out of it. She cried less than Paul.

it's actually an easy climb, but can make for some 3 wheelin if you're not paying attention.

definitely a fun spot.

Paul was talking about getting your heart pumping with big drop-offs, I think the 2 that really stand out for me were at no left turn on rusty nail and the end of top of the world.

did anyone do the UH waterfall unassisted?

keep posting, love the pics!!

none of us tried the waterfall un assisted. reward wasn't worth the risk.

it does look like I dropped the mic to talk away from paul. but really I had just finished climbing that hill from the bottom and was going to dales jeep to get his winch line.

and yes pauls jeep could of eaten me as I slid right underneath it trying to climb the hill. scary

and yes my knees still hurt

I hear sunshine, palm trees, and fruity drinks help with knee pain.

Hands in pocket...nothing to see here. Time for lunch. I can't really say too much, I ended up doing the same thing...again. That climb and I just don't get a along.
