atv question

i was wondering about the legalities of driving a quad on roads up near silver lake. id be going from yogi to the park and back. im from canada and we have to have our quads/sleds plated and insured up here in ontario.

i talked to a friend from michigan and this is what he told me:

"Since i do live in the state......
MI Law (if i recall correctly) says ATV use on highways is prohibited, except to cross these roads, although operators are permitted to drive on highway shoulders. but the big part about that is, Your quad MUST BE TITLED and you MUST WEAR A HELMET . otherwise, ORV designated area's only."

the only reason im asking is if something pops up and we need to go back to the yogi to grab something its easier and quicker doing this then loading up a trailer and driving back or unhitching from said trailer.

thanks

Go to Michigan gov web site, Pure Michigan, and look at what's there. Maybe Secretary of State site too. Also counties you plan to visit web sites as they are allowed to make there own ordinances.
