Default Brain Fart Moments

Everybody has some good ones, so letís share.

Monday night I FINALLY finished the electrical in my garage. I bought the house last year and the garage was pretty bare. I re-did it all, all new wiring, 100amp subpanel, 2 different 220V circuits, 34 total 110V outlets, a bunch of fluorescent lighting, etc. More than enough for my mini fab shop. Iím pretty anal about any project I work on, so I took my time and did it all right.
I spent the extra money to put in a gfci outlet as the first on each circuit, as I heard it needed that to meet code. When I kicked on all the breakers I had to reset each gfci to power them up. One by one they all kicked on no problem, and each one was a small victory since Iíve never done home wiring before. Even the 220V compressor works great. Then I went to kick on the ceiling outlets for my lights and neither would turn on. Nothing. After some swearing, beer, and thinking, I pulled one out of the box to check the connections and they were good. I couldnít figure out WTF was going on with it. No way mounting it horizontal instead of vertical would cause a problem. Then I started tracing the wiring to make sure it was correct. Traced it right back to the wall switches I had also installed. Then I turned the switches onÖ..durr.

I've heard it called "word vomit" but "word shart" does make sense....

I forgot how old I was the other day, I'm far too young to be doing that.

I always have to do the math to remember how old I am, and I'm only 28

A few years back I accually started a argument with my mom that I was turning 27 and when I was accually only turning 26. I started to say "no your wrong" until I realized she was there 26 years ago so I should take her word for it.

Now that's a real brain fart right there. Impressive! I think you made the right decision to bow out of that argument.

I remembered a recent incident. Everyday when I come downstairs in the morning I put up a gate half way up the stairs because that's where the wall begins on both sides. One morning I must have been completely out of it because I walked off the stair like I was on flat ground. I was back on flat ground pretty quickly.

The best moment I've ever had happened about 12 yrs ago. I had spent the afternoon swapping small blocks in a caprice i had at the time. I was working by myself and it took quite a bit of wrestling to get the damn thing lined up. As the sun was setting I was just wrapping up the last of the plumbing and wiring. I get in, just about to put the key in the ignition, happen to look over at the flex plate sitting on the porch. I said lots of pretty things at that point.

One time while jet skiing the line for the boat ramp was very long and he parking lot was quite full. When I got the Seadoos unloaded I quickly jumped back in the truck and found a parking spot quite a distance away. Well the seadoos were kind of in the way so I got on mine very quickly and headed out across the lake . It noticed I was not riding very high in the water and the power seemed down. I quickly stood up and pulled the seat up and the hull was filling up with water quickly. I had forgot to put the drain plugs in since I was rushing so much. By the time i got back to shore my wifes was 3/4 submerged. To make matters worse I pulled the plugs and cranked them over to make sure no water had gotten in the motor and had my head right over the cylinders and got gas sprayed into both eyes. Never made that mistake again.

My friend did that but the gas ignited. Outcome wasn't good

did that one morning duck hunting. wasn't my boat though. Used a shotgun shell with electrical tape wrapped around it... until my buddy showed back up after realizing we didn't follow and had a spare lying around.

I tend to replace words with other things I'm thinking about, sometimes just forgetting the word altogether... or start a conversation in the middle of the discussion... and jump back and forth between conversations with the same person... a curse, or a blessing
