I did.

I ended up with the goodyear silent armor tires, 285/65/18

I ordered the bilstein 5100's and installed the fronts at the highest lift setting (1.75")

The shocks ride much firmer/more solid, than the stock shocks. The ride didn't change a ton, but its just more solid. I prefer it.

I did the JohnnyJ shock test, m59-white lake road north on Dentonhill road with the cruise set at 65 mph. THe ride is much improved in both the dips and natural bumps of the road, as well as the chatter bump pothole patches that cover the whole damn road.

The word is getting out on my test loop. I saw an off-site ride from some OEM lining up at M-59 and Fenton Rd this morning. There was probably 3 toyotas, a Nissan, and 10 or so camo'd pick ups, all of the mini-truck variety. I wonder what the attrition rate will be.

I spoke to the county this morning, they are actually going to raise our taxes because like the http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ Fenton road is becoming a destination spot for OEM testing and baja racers

I put a set of the "new style" BFG "Rugged Terrains" on my half-ton Ram (they come in 20s) and they've been great.

Quiet, good wet and snow traction, and wearing very well. I don't wheel my truck - it's mostly a hauling/trailer-towing vehicle.

re-tested the shocks with a full load of fire wood (had about an inch til the bumpstops) cruise set at 65 mph on JohnnyJ's super secret test loop, but I missed part of the southern half. Only bottomed out that I could feel one time, figured that was pretty damn good, and the ride was nicely controlled, no excessive sway, wandering, etc. I'm sold.

city boy? I grew up in Ortonville back when nobody knew where it was. Since you're barely in your 30s, then I still have lived in the country longer than you, even with my few years of city life.

edit: and aint you living in the city limits?

How long did you live in Royal Oak/Berkely/hipster land?

I've lived here (outside of fenton) since 86, before that was Hartland (outside the city limits), the only time I lived in the city limits was the 5 years I lived in marquette, which I would argue is less city than fenton considering the surrounding opportunities to enjoy mother nature, and the 3 years I lived in Fenton.

I do not currently live in the city limits....

Regardless I was simply stating that I've used Fenton road as a testing ground since before I drove to your city dwelling over 10 years ago to pick up that TJ bumper

So take that and put it in your tail pipe and smoke it

I grew up in Ortonville, went to college in Mt Pleasant for 4 years and then 10 years of city livin' split between Utica (1 year), Koblenz, Germany (1.5 years) and the remainder in Royal Oak through an apartment and 3 houses. We moved to Hartland in Dec 2004.

I do sometimes miss my Royal Oak apartment. It was 2 blocks north of the post office and we used to gets shi***y drunk and walk home from the bar. Although that was cool in my 20s, but now it'd be creepy.

Your math sucks, or you're older than you say.

40 - 14 = 26
33 - 8 = 25

And you can claim Marquette as country living, but I'll take the 4 years at Central as the same. From the south side of campus you could throw rocks into farm fields. We used to ride the country gravel roads to the mountain bike trails on the north side of town.

So there you are.. city slicker.

You've claimed fenton road as your test track. 2004-2013 (9 years).

I said I had used it as my test track longer (96-2013)

You can take 2.5 years off for my living in marquette during the winters and back home in the summers.

Don't be trying to change the subject. I took offense to being called a city boy by some snot nosed city kid.

I moved home in the summer's too, but I guess you might have the advantage since you took college more seriously and studied an extra year over those of us who did it in 4 years....
