If they make the "xxx" subs my boss used to run them in competitions down in Tennessee, I believe he told me he burped 148dbs with 2 "xxx" 15's. He speaks Verry highly of them.

I have never personaly owned any but have seen some around.

The stuff they make is decent, nothing too special imo. I would say they make mid level
car audio, and used to make a comp level sub. I dont know if they still do.

Most car audio brands are owned by a few big parent companies and it's all made in korea.
If you can figure out who owns RE, and where they price it acording to their other brands, you get an idea of the quality inside.

If they are still building here I would expect top quality stuff. Do your research and be carefull where you buy. Lots of conterfeit audio products out there for sale... at least when I was into it.

Gotcha, honestly marine environment is very rough. Could always grab some cheapy ones or craigslist specials. That way if they burn up your not out a whole bunch.

Looks like RE XXX or SXXV2 is an option I want to consider. Anyone ever use the Alpine Type R subs before? Seem like a nice sub for the money. Also thinking I want to go with a hifonix amp to power it.
