2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ, 111k miles - SOLD
Up for sale is my 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ.
2.5l Inline 4 Cylinder Engine.
AX5 5 Speed Manual Transmission
NP231 Transfer Case
Dana 35 rear end
Dana 30 front
Nearly rust free body and undercarriage, only one notable spot on the body, which is shown in photos.
Clean, rust free floorboards. I undercoated the drivers side interior floor to make sure it doesn't rust anytime soon.
4.10 gears with the 5 speed keep it moving rather well.
Runs 75mph down the freeway just fine. I just got back from a 550 mile trip recently, no issues whatsoever.
31" BFG All-Terrain tires, 70% or more
Runs perfect, starts right up.
No warning lights on dash.
Clean interior with newer style gauges, much nicer than the pre-2001 gauges. (most probably don't care but whatever )
Recent tune up, around June.
Oil pressure is 40 at warm idle, 55-60 driving.
Transmission shifts well, no grinding at all, including reverse.
Clutch is perfect, no slippage.
4x4 works perfect in high and low, went through a foot of snow up north recently with no problem.
Hard top with rear wiper and defrost, worth almost $1000 alone.
No vibrations at all, smooth and straight going down the road.
New muffler as of 2/7/13, it is a flowmaster 40. Actually sounds decent, not buzzy or loud, has a nice rumble. I put it on hoping to free up a little power.
1. Shift boot is loose, it's there but it's not connected. Haven't even bothered to try and put it back on. Doesn't let in any additional air or noise as there is another shift boot that seals the transmission from the interior in these Jeeps. I've heard that the shift boots can bind up in the cold so I never bothered to fix it.
2. Rust spot on back passenger corner (pictured).
The Jeep runs and drives perfect, clutch is perfect and grabs strong. Engines runs great, smooth, quiet and responsive. The 4 cylinder returns 17-20 MPG depending on type of driving and style, 2-3 better than the 6 cylinder Jeeps. No mechanical problems. Selling to get a good highway vehicle as I frequently make 5+ hour trips, and this Jeep lacks cruise control and A/C. It does the job fine, but these trips are becoming more frequent and I'd like something else.
Asking $6000 FIRM. Found a car I want, if it sells I will probably raise my price back up because I'm not really too thrilled about getting rid of it. Don't bother offering me anything less than 6k. I've had several offers just under and I'm not interested.
Possibly trade for good dd. Would also take a cheaper vehicle and some cash my way.
Call or text Ben at 734.718.4136 anytime. Pm's are fine too.

Up top, price drop. Summers coming and this is a good reliable jeep. Tracks straight, goes down the road smooth and does fine on the highway. No mechanical issues that I am aware of.
