Default noise near bellhousing

I have an 02 wrangler 4.0 5 speed with a ticking sound. I used a stethascope and it seems to be loudest at the bellhousing I thought it was a lifter or piston so i put oil additives in but dosent change anything its wierd because when the jeep warms up it doesnt seem as noticeable??? has anybody had issues like this.
