?????
I have a new camshaft I have had in storage for sometime, but when I opened up the box there is some surface rust on the shiny areas.

What is the proper way to remove this surface rust? No pits.

I've had to do this a few times and all I ever used was a green scotch brite pad and some oil. (I think i used like 5w-30) It worked great. took the surface rust off and didn't scratch the cam up. Some times if you just put it in a parts washer and use a brush it comes right off.
