And this guy is still a rank and file member of the Fire Department I am employed with, and still holds his position at Truck 25, as well as he has been collecting a paycheck since he was detained last July, although he hasn't worked since then. Gotta love the extreme "democratic" city I work for.

Unfortunately yes. I moved out about 2 years ago, after having like so many young guys, no luck finding steady work. Figured I'd move out here for a few years, get some real experience and then try and shoot back eventually. I mean I love the job and the city isn't horrible. But I miss it back in Michigan worse than I thought I ever would.

Top Reasons I can think of why MI is way better than Baltimore

-No hockey team

-The freeway system out here is horrible. To get from one side of Baltimore to the other, it takes approximately an hour. And it is about 1/4 the size of the city of Detroit. In Detroit, it takes maybe 10 minutes.

-The housing is waaay overpriced for what it is.

-Everyone drives foreign

-Traffic is a nightmare anywhere you go pretty much.

Any place that puts traffic lights in the round about is bound to have screwed up traffic. do yourself a favor and never drive into DC people from around the world all learning to drive in our country... fun times

as for housing yes its overpriced and not going down any time soon! they never had the bubble burst in the area as far as the economy goes the government kept everyone employed.

But you do have maryland crabs and old bay which are awesome, you cant throw a dead hooker near the water without hitting a teaky bar, and the summer months last a shit ton longer, but are HOT and humid as hell!!!!

oh and stay out of glen burnie! that place is to baltimore what flint is to detriot...

They put traffic lights in round abouts here too. A guy in a wheelchair sued because one day he might want to cross a round about. He won.
