Default End of winter project not 4x4 (pics)

the history of the car, this is a 69 cutlass s from ebay, that my dad and I started restoring when i was 10 in 2000. he welded in patch panels put a bunch of "mud" on the quarters and it has been sitting in the corner of the garage ever since. I took autobody in high school, so i could finally finish these projects. In school i got the fenders and deck lid cut in and ready to hang. finally got the car to my house so i can finish it in time for summer.

sorry in advanced for crappy pics all i have is my phone.

finally got started yesterday.

when i started I had a feeling that the filler was way to thick

I was right some spots had over 1" of filler!!

did a bunch of metal work now it is all less then 3/16"

the body lines look sweet on the car but man they are a bugger to make.

There is really not a whole lot left to do on the car going to try to get the bodywork and paint finished by early march. It is just going to be a street cruiser. getting a 307 2bbl and 200r4 od out of a 80s olds 98

going to try to get the doors/jambs hood and decklid cut in this week. then hang all of the panels and align everything should come along quick after the parts are cut in. The color is a 69 option color, Carribean terquoise. with a white vinyl top.

Nice color combo. Figure a different shade of that blue barrel in the background and it's good to go.

With aftermarket wheels, the W-30 hood will be nice. Unless you're building a sleeper with hubcaps.

this is just going to be a cutlass copy of my dads old w30 442 I just don't think the 307 will do the w30 hood justice. this is getting color matched steel wheels with beauty rings. lol

got abot 8 hr in the spots i just painted. blocking sanding prepping and masking. If i had the funds all parts would be soda blasted. the po, had some incompatible materials in the jambs. most was wrinkleing. i sanded all of that out . only had a few small spots come back. but it is one of those things you dont know until it happens. this car has been completely painted at leas twice in its past life.
