Default Any TV repair experts on here?

I have an older model Samsung 42" plasma. Every now and then, when I turn it on after being off all night, the volume will be super loud. I can turn the volume down to 10 at night, and when I turn the TV on in the morning, it can be up to like 60 or 70. It doesn't do this every time, just now and then. Any idea what may be causing this? The TV is hooked up via HDMI

sounds like the sound board is going bad, from my information; it's more expensive to fix than the TV is worth

Let me change the title to "who has the best deal on TVs"

I know they are cheap, but mine works perfect besides this random high volume deal. It's not enough to make me go buy a new TV. Just wondering if anybody had this problem and if so, did you find out what the problem was.

Cut the wires to the speakers, and run the audio through an AV receiver.

Hook it up to a stereo receiver, turn volume on TV all the way off, set receiver to desired volume.
