The prettiest spots I can think of would be on Drummond Island at the outdoor chapel or in Holland by the windmills.

When is your wedding? In the fall Dead Mans Hill is an awesome background with the colors. It really depends on what you and more importantly your wife to be wants. Keep in mind outdoor weddings can be stressful if the weather goes bad. You might want some place with an outdoor pavilion just in case it rains. Its always good to have a backup plan.

We did Drummond Island at the resort. It was supposed to be outside in August (not at their outdoor chapel but on a deck by the beach)...and the weather was perfect leading up to the wedding and the day of it dropped to low temps, got windy as it could, and rained alllll day. So we ended up not having the beautiful outdoor lake front setting we dreamed about and I was a little heartbroken over it - but turned out just perfect anyways at our back up location (same venue as the reception - ceremony took place in front of the cake - we had limited options). So my point - have a back up plan to incase the weather turns bad. I'm glad we had a plan b - even if we figured out what plan b was less than 24 hours before the actual ceremony.

You guys should check out www.upnorthbride.com for some ideas.

We attended a wedding here http://www.frogpondvillage.com/index.asp three years ago.
It is a beautiful venue with two chapel's. One outdoor with a pergola, and one indoor.

Been to a wedding there too, it is nice.

Another TC option where we got married, but they are probably all booked up for this summer: http://www.timberleeweddings.com/

We had friends do Crystal Mnt in June...guests and the wedding party rode the chair lifts up to the top of the hill. It was really great and fun for the guests to stay there with family/friends and really enjoy the company of each other and the bride/groom...

Well I think we figured it out! Outside at the Black Mountain Lodge, and inside of the lodge if weather turns to crap. Thanks for all of the suggestions guys and gals!

If you want to come down to the Detroit area you can rent out the lobby of the Guardian Building in Detroit. A friend did this for his wedding and I believe that is supposed to be relatively inexpensive. I don't have any photos of the wedding service, but here's a generic one of the interior:

You can also rent out the lobby of the DIA where the Diego Rivera mural is, but I imagine that is considerably more expensive.

I got married on the dunes at silver lake, was cool walked far enough off the driving park so we wouldn't be bothered and kinda close to the water, scenic I guess. If I were to do it again I'd do it on a motocross track, doesn't get more scenic to me
