Read the rules.
Shoulder travel isnt "road" travel and not a single person mentioned shoulder.
I dont have anything against anyone owning a RZR, I shared our experience with the dealership and our battle to register it as street legal.
...So this crap DOES happen.
Know the rules and dont take some cashier at the gas station the hiljack locals or the dealers word as gosple. Find printed DNR or NFS literature. Read it, understand it and have fun out there.
They also need to check with MDOT and local governments, since MDOT can close roads to ORV's and local governments can also make rules and regulations regarding ORV's

I agree with you on following the rules. Every clerk, gas attendant or rental agent while giving opinion handed us therules in print. Hell one county had the rule sheets posted on the county line as well as in a rain proof box as you rode in. If you rode on the shoulder you were on peoples lawn. I mentioned the speed limit and riding times because they were on the sheet but I couldnt remember.

You can get older 900's that are 50 inches. The RZR-S is wider though.

Since when? The 900 has only been offered in the XP, which is 64" wide...
