New Hudson

Turned down the Louisville job. Have an offer in New Hudson now...

Figured you east siders would be able to give me some insight.

I want to live in as rural an area as possible. Going to rent until fiancee becomes wife, then house hunt starts after she finds a job.

Curious how far away I would have to be to get a secluded house in the woods on a creek or something. Haven't really been around the area, or had time to search. Also how the housing market is, what stuff is going for or anything.

Any other insight as to the area, lifestyle or whatever is a benefit to me. The more I know the better.

Thanks guys.

I grew up in the area. You can find what you are looking for around their or any were west down I-96. New hudson is got the best of both worlds, 15 min. drive east is Novi all the shopping or eats you desire or 15 min west and you are out in the country. Homes tend to be a little on the high side. If you have a jeep you can check out the DMJC great club. Good luck.

Nice area Somewhat of a rural area, Milfords cousin really. Housing in the Oakland county area for renting isnt cheap, a typical 3 bedroom can go for $1000. New Huddy is close to Milford, South Lyon, Novi, Wixom... Novi has some good bars and shopping and cops that love to pull over people.

You can get into a rural setting really close to New Hudson. South Lyon wouldn't be far away, Milford, and the east side of Brighton/Green Oak Township are all options that would offer rentals and be within 20 minutes drive time. Affordable rentals could be found in all those areas.

My buddy is just getting ready to rent a house since he works in Farmington hills. Would probably room with him to cut down on rent

Do some shopping and you will find something nice but I don't think there is any creek front.

That's not a bad plan. Plenty of places between Farmington Hills and New Hudson.

There are a lot of areas that should be secluded enough for you in this area.

It looks like it stays pretty busy too. The one time I went there it was dead but the bar girls had a couple shots with me and my buddy.
