Man isn't scary how many of us think alike ? M first thought was some whack job who was either looking for some fame in taking out the most prolific sniper or trying to collect on the bounty. Then the government doing it popped into my head. I personally think all the recent shootings were orchestrated by Obie's administration to push along his disarmament agenda. R.I.P. Chris and prayers go out to his family.

Gentlement, let's take off our tinfoil hats and bow our heads for a moment of silence for a fallen hero.

Whoa, whoa... From the article...
Quote:
nvestigators have said that Routh allegedly stole Kyle’s black Ford pick-up truck and drove to his sister’s home in Midlothian telling her and her husband that he killed the two men.
Later that night, investigators said they found what they think is the murder weapon, a semi-automatic handgun, at Routh’s home in Lancaster.
Routh’s sister, Laura Blevins, urged her 25-year-old brother, a former Marine, to turn himself in.
Routh telling his sister he traded his soul for a new truck suggests a possible motive in the crime that so far investigators have not yet pinpointed.
Wasn't it reported that it was after a short police chase that he was captured?

An earlier article...
Quote:
A spokesman for Lancaster police said officers flagged Routh and took him into custody at Interstate 35 and Camp Wisdom Road after a brief chase.
Somebody's fucking lying.

RIP

If only someone there would've had a gun and known how to use it, this would have never happened. We need armed veterans at shooting ranges to stop things like this and range suicides.

RIP soldier, you will be missed by all. I hadn't really thought along the tinfoil hat lines like you guys, but it did get the wheels turning.

Not funny. Feel free to suicide yourself, I'll see to it that no armed veterans get in your way.

So its ok to say about any other shooting situation but this one?

All the other shootings you all seem to think can be stopped by "a good guy with a gun" but not this one?

As much as I hate to even dignify your ignorance with a response, I will. Shootings happen and will continue to happen no matter what. Crazy people can and will get guns(and countless other weapons), and will use them to do bad things. People make the point that you're trying to mock (poorly, I might add) primarily about gun free zones. Criminals/murderers don't care about laws telling them they can't have a gun a certain place, they're already planning to break the law. Why would another law stop them? All it does is take the protection away from those of us who follow the law, not those who break it. So yes, in many situations, a responsible armed citizen or soldier can and will prevent or minimize gun related violence. Sadly, this was not one of those cases. Nobody is claiming it's foolproof or 100% effective. Please either get your head out of your ass or at least save your ignorant agenda for somewhere else. This thread is to honor a fallen hero, please keep it that way.

Criminals/murderers don't care about laws telling them they can't have a gun a certain place, they're already planning to break the law. Why would another law stop them?Again I agree and I do find the "Gun free zones" stupid, very much like "drug free zones" However I don't think that GFZ is actually supposed to stop guns from being there, and those that do are in a fantasy world. All it does is take the protection away from those of us who follow the law, not those who break it. So yes, in many situations, a responsible armed citizen or soldier can and will prevent or minimize gun related violence. Sadly, this was not one of those cases. You think it's honoring his memory to repeatedly say his own country killed him or is covering up what happened? I have multiple family members and friends who have served and have respect for what they do and have done. Also I'm not anti gun at all, I've had firearms since I was quite young and hunted my whole life.

wonder when all of the government secrets/shenanigans will be exposed? not just recent events but in the past 200 years. Would we really want to know?

RIP Mr. Kyle, Thank you for your service.
