Order mounts and exhaust manifolds from Novak last week. Had to call them today to see why they haven't been shipped yet. Turns out the non coated headers have been backordered for some time. So they cut me an awesome deal on the ceramic coated headers. I'm gonna have some bling...lol

Getting the wiring and stuff sorted out and need to know if anyone has ordered an OBD2 connector before. Are they universal or do I need a certain one? My Jeep doesn't have one and the wiring harness from the motor doesn't have one.

Thanks in advance..

There are lots of different connectors. I think www.Lt1swap.com has a page about it, he will also show you how to do your own harness if interested.

x2. OBDII ports are easy to add on if its missing from your harness. Pretty simple to wire up.

I know it is simple to wire in I guess I was just more curious if I had to get a certain one. I looked on LT1swap but couldn't find anything on there about the plug.

Nope. They should all be universal. Mine in my swap came with my harness but I still had to wire it up and mount it.

OK, thats what I thought but just wanted to make sure. On a side note I did find a lot of good info on switching to drive by cable on that site.

We did not have good luck with the Novak motor mounts. The bushings failed leading to play in the setup, which caused the studs to smash the motor plates until they bent.

Just pick an obd conenctor out of a junkyard. Most places will probably give you one. just take some pig tail and splice it in.

You're the first one I have heard of that had issues with the mounts. Did they fail right away or did it take a while?

Within the first 6 months. We kept an eye on them to make sure they were not getting loose, but once the rubber bushing popped, it went south quick.

We replaced them with a spring eye bushing mount, like this:

here is ours, kinda blurry cell phone pic:

Got the motor in the engine bay just to see how things are going to lay out. Need to cut off the the stock suspension mounts and remove the fuel vapor canister.

Can't remember what you said, are you going to run the truck intake and accessories? If so, what are you thinking for the hood?
