You do make some excellent points in your statement and people need to understand that life is not fair and life does suck from time to time. People have more value than puppies. As for why people commit suicide....ummm who knows maybe alot of it has to do with being depressed. Depression affects many people differently and if gone untreated people tend to think there is no reason to live. If treated with meds and a good support system you would be surprised how many people come out of it and realize life is worth living. Every human being has value and worth.

I fixed it for you.

Yes, some of the causes of psychotic behavior, suicide, murders, etc. can be treated. Not everyone is worth the time, Darwin's theory worked pretty well until mankind got in the way of it and made everything fair for everyone.

Y'know, there was a guy back about 70 years ago tried to rid society of the mentally ill and criminals....... but then he went a bit too far.

I remember hearing about some lady shooting her son at a range with a rental gun once upon a time.

Its a sign of the times though, why spend all that money on a gun when for ten bucks you can rent a gun and your family doesnt have to clean it up when youre done.

Target Sports in Royal Oak does still, in fact, rent guns.
If you read the article a little more closely you will see:
"Target Sports is taking steps to prevent suicides at its gun range by no longer renting firearms to individuals"
"The chief said he recommended Target Sports employees accompany people who come in alone to rent a gun to the range and stay with them.

“They’re taking it a step further and decided they won’t rent to someone who comes in by their self if they don’t know them,” O’Donohue said, adding Target has some “regulars” who wouldn’t be affected by the new policy.

The business also will keep a list of people whose gun rental requests were declined. They will be turned down in the future, too."

Beyond the article, there are also signs behind the counter saying they will not rent to individuals.
If you are a regular or come in there with a group of 2 or more, they will rent to you just as they did before.
BTW, this is not hearsay, I saw it for myself when I was there last weekend.

a hundred years ago we locked crazy people up. Now we "mainstream" them into society.
Then we are all surpised when they do crazy shit.

One of our friends was there, in the stall NEXT to the girl mentioned in the article at the December incident - he was telling us all about it when we saw him a few weeks after. I'll NEVER shoot indoors again (for practice).

I have serious man love at this moment.

I've never been to their range in Royal Oak to shoot. I have been in the store a few times and was not really all that impressed with the staff. However I have been to the range in Keego and I have to say that I am less than enthused about the crowd that frequents that place. Almost every time I have gone they have had to tell a group of wanna be cool guy youths(Chaldeans) and the girl they bring to try and impress to keep the guns pointed down range and in the stalls. However that's really neither here nor there...

I am kinda curious what kind of body language someone who is going to off themselves in the range gives off when they are renting their gun. Maybe its not apparent at all. Maybe it goes back to what I've always believed that people that want to be dead just go and do it and everyone is stunned, where as those who just want attention and/or help are the ones who make a big scene about wanting to do it.

Either way its sad for the business, employees, and family and friends of those involved...
