TERM LIMITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We kick the president out after two terms. Why not kick Congress out too? Fresh people means fresh ideas; both good and bad but none the less new. In the words of kickstand Pete and Repete....... This also lessens the ties to some pet projects. Being a politician should not be a career as many of then claim to be "glad to serve the people" or some other BS line. It should be an honor to have people think enough of you to say that you represent their views and trust you enough to speak on behalf of them.

I sent this:

Senator,

In your letter to me I have seen some very broad and bold claims. To me these are just "claims", to help in my understanding please explain a few things below:

"I also have always supported the rights of sportsmen and hunters." http://www.ontheissues.org/Domestic/...un_Control.htm The link above shows your voting record on gun related issues. Please explain to me how the NRA rates you with a "F" while you have "always supported the rights or sportsmen and hunters". Why do you feel that a hunter should be excluded from having a gun in their checked baggage on Amtrak, when I can legally check one in on a plane?

"But military style assault weapons have no sporting purpose." Please show me where your evidence for this claim is also. I can justify hunting with a "assault weapon" for a few reason; during predator hunting to control the population of coyotes in my rural neighborhood, a fast second shot can be the difference between a quick kill and a suffering animal. A ten round detachable magazines is used in my .22LR semiautomatic rifle to dispatch animals that are caught in leg hold traps and snares. I like the ten round magazine because if I have to dispatch multiple animals along a 30-40 set trap line I only have to carry four magazines rather than eight five round magazines. Please tell me how my "military style assault weapons" have no sporting purpose?

"Studies have shown that high capacity ammunition magazines are used in 31 to 41 percent of fatal police shootings in cities across our nation." Please provide me with a study name or web link where I can view these facts to educate myself.
Sincerely,

I received the same pile of crap back from Levin yesterday and just replied with Coyote Reds response. At least Levin admitted his position, Stablecow claimed she was for gun rights but used a lot of weasel words.

Well, we do live in a blue state with liberal values (as a majority, anyway). They are doing what their constituents want. We are the minority here.

I still can't believe Oakland county goes blue.. it is pure insanity. That county has some of the wealthiest areas in the state in it and yet those areas go blue? It makes zero sense to me. I can count the people I know that admit to voting for obama on one hand. I understand Wayne country but detroit doesnt have a huge population of voters anymore. Does each abandoned house get a vote too?? I could even see pontiac going blue but how many people live in pontiac anymore? It's starting to be like Detroit, which is a bunch of abandoned buildings.

another problem is many people fail to vote in local elections, state elections, and other. Many just vote for the president and think that is good enough.

We unfortunately are a blue state. The number of people that live in Detroit, Flint, Ann Arbor and Saginaw FAR FAR FAR outweight the rest of the states population. Those are either hippy cities, or poor welfare areas.

I'm pretty surprised to see marquette county go blue, then again there were a ton of liberal hippies in the city of marquette and around the university. I also fear that half the rednecks that would normally support republican values on land use, gun rights, freedom of speach, and other values probably didn't bother to vote.

THIS X 100000!

A person can have conservative values on EVERY level but put them in the UAW and they follow orders on who to vote for.

It seems to me this is why many people vote liberal. They pick ONE topic and make their decision based on that. Gay rights, women rights (perceived war on women), unions.

They do not focus on the whole picture.

Got the same letter the other day, and one from Stabenow the other week. The amazing thing about Levin is that he is the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and yet he states ridiculously in the letter that he wants to ban rifles with military style features, such as "protruding pistol grips, and barrel shrouds", which shows he doesn't have a clue about what the weapons of the military he oversees actually are or how they work. And I can't remember the last time I ever heard of a grenade launcher being used in a mass murder, let alone any street crimes reported on the news. Also, "31 to 41 percent of fatal police shootings" committed by high capacity magazines? Which is it, Senator? 31 or 41? Talk about pulling some numbers out of his ass. Nevermind the fact that 98% of those magazines are attached to HANDGUNS! So called 'Assault Weapons" account for about 2% of the shootings he is referring to.

Some of the reasons the Union comes up with are very amusing. During the Election between Obama and McCain I worked for UPS and the Union big wigs came in and handed out pamphlets telling us that we needed to vote Democrat because John McCain was best friends with the CEO of Fed Ex so he would clearly be gunning for UPS trying to shut them down.

The former detroiters moved to apt's in the OC for the good schools then vote to bring in the type of people who will ruin them. I couldn't believe the line of Village People at the polls last couple elections.

It seems Mr Levin signed me up to receive his email updates on current issues like "Sen. Levin welcomed gun violence prevention proposals from President Obama as "important in protecting Americans while respecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners."

I had a Union representative come through the plant and he was handing out pamphlets in support of and encouraging people to vote for Obama. I was working there as a non-union contractor. When he handed me one I chose my right to freedom of speech and respectfully but sternly told him I would not tolerate him coming into my work space and pushing his political agenda. "Who I vote for is none of your business or that of a union." I ended up having him removed from the premises. Felt good, he didnt quite know what to do or how to handle the situation. I think most people just roll over and play dead.

Default Tim Walbergs Responce.

January 10, 2013

Dear Mr. Swampdog02,

Thank you for contacting me about the federal regulation of firearms and ammunition. I appreciate knowing your thoughts on this issue.

I strongly believe in the protected rights allotted under the Second Amendment of our Constitution, and I support the right for individuals to possess firearms and use them for lawful purposes. I consider myself one of the many Americans that use firearms for recreational hunting, collection, and protection –this is a liberty that is to be treasured and protected.

As Congress considers legislation relating to gun control, you can be certain that I will keep your thoughts in mind, and in doing so, defend the right for law abiding citizens to bear arms.

Again, thank you for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Tim Walberg
Member of Congress
