Default whoops, too much burnout

Doing a top fuel style burnout in my 08 silverado, and instead of shifting it bounced off the revlimiter in first gear, wouldn't shift into second and the speedometer quit working temporarily. Came to a stop and everything started working again. Today, two weeks later, same thing happened under normal acceleration. Pulled over, and everything started working again. So what the deal is?

That and I sence that your "big brother computer" is stepping in. My 2006 you couldnt squeel the tires if you tried and their was no way to turn the computer or "torque management" off, have the computer flashed and its a diffrent story all together.

They put it next to the blinker fluid tank.

Might be a glitch in the speed sensor since it seems to only affect the speedo.

Speed sensor is magnetic, sources say if I pull it and clean it I should be fine. We shall see...

The clusters in those trucks are known for having problems and I think there was a recall.

I got one for my truck but never took it in and never had a problem.

just had a coworker with this same issue ended up being his battery was going bad supposedly he put in a new battery and no issues for several months now

I do 50-70k a year in my work truck. No burnouts. Not even on ice.... Even when I try!
