Default FS/FT: 2001 Toyota 4runner SR5 4x4 W/ 2.5" lift

SOLD PENDING RECEIPT OF PAYMENT

Bringing this back up and updating this post. I am mainly interested in a partial trade for a dependable beater in the $2000(give or take) price range with the difference being made up with cash on the buyers end. The sway bars have been pulled as has the front OE skid. I have these parts but the sway bars will need new links and mounts if you want to re-install. I have found that with the OME suspension, the sway bars harshen the ride to the unenjoyable status.

I purchased it almost 1 year ago from a Honda dealer in Southgate. It was a one owner, woman owned vehicle. No accidents. It had 104,xxx when I bought it and it now has just over 116,xxx. Everything works, it is mechanically and structurally sound. It does not leak, or burn any fluids. Here is the run down on the good and bad....

The bad:

It does have some cancer. The drivers rocker has a couple spots where the rust has gone completely through. But the rocker itself is sound and the damage is on the bottom side. You can not see it unless you lay down and look up. The frame is sound. Some surface rust and the undercoating flaking off at welds, but no holes, no deep rust.

The fabric on the door panel on the drivers door is pulling away from the plastic. Ive been meaning to glue it back on, just haven't.

One of the elements in the rear defroster has lost continuity. But the defroster works otherwise.

The Good:

Everything works. Power windows, rear window, all transfer case functions, high low range. All buttons, switches work their appropriate accessories and all the accessories work. All fluids other than the brake and power steering fluid have been change and any accompanying filters. Transmission was fully flushed in my driveway. My intention in building this up was first and foremost to make it a safe daily driver.

New parts I have added/replaced since I took ownership.

- Yokohama Geolander AT/s tires, 256-75-16
- OME 881/890 lift from Toytec. Springs and shocks.
- Toytec rear upper adjustable control arms to bring the pinion back in alignment.
- SPC/Light Racing front upper control arms to bring the caster back after lifting.
- Sonoran Steel adjustable panhard bar.
- New lower ball joints.
- New inner and outer tie rods.
- Poly steering rack bushings.
- New Denso Radiator
- New Aux Tranny cooler. I believe its a 24,000btu unit, but it could be a 19,000. Run in series with the radiator.
- New Denso AC compressor, condensor, drier/filter, expansion valve.
- New rear driveshaft built by Tom at Precision here in Lansing. I also JUST rebuilt it with 3 Spicer joints and the center ball.
- Tundra front brake upgrade with the 231 calipers.
- New rear brakes, shoes, drums, springs etc.
- Kenwood KIV bt-900 stereo and Cobra 18 WX STII in the dash. I custom mount these to fit into the double din opening. Looks OE.
- Custom built rear drawer system.
- Timing belt service done over the summer with OE parts.
- New Steering Rack guide.
- Monstalined the entire rig 3 months ago as well as Chassis Savered the rear axle and about 3/4 of the back part of the frame and underside.

I am sure I am forgetting somethings. If they come to mind I will update.

I am looking to get $6,000 cash for it. I have clear title in hand. I may be interested in a cheap beater plus cash on your end. I am partial to late 90's to early 2000 Hondas. Toyota, Mazda, Nissan work as well. Dependable and ready to go.

The running boards are gone.

Its not perfect, there are some chips, some have been touched up. All body panels are original. I did replace the plugs and wires with OE specified parts and the oil was changed last weekend. Thats why the front diff looks wet. Fuel filter is also new. I do have the skid plates in my shed.

I have a 5x8 single axle (2,990 GVW) utility trailer I will throw in for an additional $500. I purchased the trailer late summer of 2012. Hasnt seen much use, only a couple times. Low sides with full width ramp.

Coolant issue fixed today with new Toyota thermostat, gasket and 2 gallons Zerex Asian forumula coolant. It looked as if the new gasket I put in over the summer had a spot that got hard and shrunk.

Motivated to sell. I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere. I will probably do the timing belt and related bits within the coming weeks. This will also include a higher amp alternator and replacing the ground and positive cables to 4 gauge. This will add to the price.

Not a great time to sell I don't think, my Jeep has been on craigslist for a week now at a decent price and i've only had 1 interested party. Good luck though, these 4runners are very reliable, capable, expedition worthy machines. If I had an extra $1500 and could sell my TJ I would pick this up.

Wife has decided she wants the 4runner and we will get rid of her 2011 Kia Sorento.

Need to get this on the second page, pictures are killing me.

Willing to bump up to a better trade. Volvo, Audi... Something family friendly and AWD preferably. Always been a fan of the Volvo wagon, especially the 850r..... XC70 or V70 somewhere around the 99-03 mark. Audi A4 or A6, same time frame.

If I can get a couple grand out of this in addition to a trade, thats what I am after. So shoot me what you have to trade.
