I like when things are a "simple fix", if it was that simple you would have done it.

I picked up a work truck for my dad this week letting the guy know I was 2 hours away. When I got there, there was no tailgate, just about every dash light was on, the 170k was actually 186k miles, the drivers window was off the track, and a couple other things he forgot to tell me. I took it home found a couple original spark plugs (cylinder 7 and 8 imagine that). 99 sierra 1/2 ton 5.3 4x4 ECSB it was listed for $1800 and I brought it home for $700 so I can't complain. However, I was pissed driving that far to see something so misrepresented.

Some of the smartest people are stupid, lazy, or just scared when it comes to cars. They know that a window motor for example is a "simple" fix. But, they would rather live with that window not working then spend a afternoon pulling the door panel off to fix it.

Oh, now it ALL makes sense. That explains why some of these cars people are talking about in this thread are not "mint". I couldnt figure it out until just now. OK, going back to bed to finally get some sleep now.

seems to me it was listed on the very high side of scrap / part-out value, and you paid raw scrap price for it. seems like a fair representation to me *Shrug*
