Lol.

Idk. Is it worth it? If I'm gonna run a ten bolt to get by while building the 14, why not fix up my ten bolt that already has the fancy shock mounts. And save money by not buying u bolts, and then buying u bolts again for a 14?

I mean if your gonna drive over, I'll take it. But I don't know if gas to go get it is worth it...

Sf is an easier install. Also, for what he is building his K5 for, sf should be plenty.

I already have the 14 swap kit from ruffstuff, so perches etc will be easy.

I'd like ff. but this is a 6 lug axle so I get to keep my wheels and tires.

Also the axle is free moneywise. Just have to help link my buddies rig as cost.

Dug her out

30 spline shafts (long side is an alloy shaft) and a powertrax no slip for the front end.

I got my front locker installed in the carrier, and took the 30 spline shaft to see if it fit good.... Ohhhh 30 splines shafts don't fit in the 28 spline carriers. Ugh .... (Didn't know this)

Checked the OD and ID of the 30 spline carrier that the locker came in, and it's the same OD as the 28 spline carrier, they just drilled it out more. So I figured what the heck, some grinding is easier than shimming gears.

28 spline carrier

30 spline carrier

Precision milling device....

Carrier in and the shafts slid in no problem :)

Swapping 6 lug stuff from an 89 axle into the 82 8 lug housing. (the 6 lug housing was too rotted, the tubes were leaking gear oil!!!) 6 lug shafts are about 1/2" longer so the backing plates need to be moved out about a 1/2".

So I drew up some spacers and had them cut out of stainless at work. 2 different thicknesses so I can get them just right. 11ga and 18 ga.

Dad was bored the other night so he did the measuring..

And I drew them up on break today.
