Audi A4 axle seal questions

Has anyone here replaced a front axle seal on an A4 Quattro? Its a 2002 1.8T

This started leaking bad, I have a 6" puddle every morning for the last three days. It just started, I was dripping no oil prior to this.

I wiped everything down and took it for a drive. This is the spot it's leaking.

I did find this write-up, which I think will help:

http://www.justanswer.com/audi/4hk00...l-leaking.html

But, I've been thinking about something. I would think this oil would smell like differential oil, but it does not. It just has a normal mineral oil type smell to it. Do these cars use a typical 75w or 90W gear oil in the diff? Or is it a different type of oil?

Also, I've check the power steering level, it's not moving. How do I check the front differential level? Is that on the Passenger side?

I'm really hoping somebody has some feedback, the Audi forums are dead. Give me something, anything!
