Default Argo Park AA

Has anybody done any kayaking in the area? We had a group from work planning on going Sat but the ringleaders backed out and are going to the Maumee instead. Just wondered how the parking situation is? Does anybody know any good put in take out points along the Huron in the AA area?

It was a pretty good trip, they have some manmade cascades at Argo park that we went thru a couple time before we went down to Gallup Park. I took the wrong boat, my open 14' got swamped both times thru the last drop, but my other kayak doesn't have enough leg & foot room for longer trips. The rental Sit On Tops seemed to work pretty well thru the cascades. Working on setting up a longer trip next time.

We've been wanting to try the cascades. I havent let the wife see the video saying you should be a good swimmer.................... shes not.

Do you think its ok for our Pungo 120's?

Many launch in Dexter MI at the Huron Metro Park and some take it all the way down to AA.

My buddy took his 3 12' Pungos and loaned 2 out, none of them had an issue. When my kayak swamped on the last one all I did was stand up and walk it to shore, really too shallow to swim, some of the pools might be deeper.

Depends on the river height...on average from Hudson mills to dexter-huron metro is 3-5 hours depending on its speed and how much you paddle and to Delhi is typically another hour.

All the way into AA is an 8 hour trip easy from Hudson Mills...
