Default Bar attatched to Trailing arm?

While watching Extreme 4x4's Ranger Resurrection build, I cannot figure out what the solid dom tubing is attatched to the trailing arm for. Its got up links to locate the axle. It is just simple for setting the ride height while building the suspension?

Looks like it was there to mock up ride height. Probably will replace it with a coil-over something.

Haha, yah i figured they wanted a firm suspension. They did eventually put by-pass coilovers on, Just didnt know if it was some kind of weird locating bar or something.
