Default snyder's speech tonight

anyone else watch this crap?

A fee on driving? 10 billion dollars to fix our roads. I can't wait to see how they are going to get the money out of our pockets for this one.

I guess it would be too easy to just take 10b from the welfare fund eh?

Increase the gas tax. Tax you on how many miles you drive.

Guess I'm fucked then. Gotta love having a job that makes you drive all over the fucking place. I can't wait to see how this goes down. I mean I drive out of state a ton as well. Can't wait to see how they are gonna hit that one. More complicated tax code sounds like.

funny shit. He complained that insurance fees are too high in this state, but wants to hit us up for more money. Complained that people were leaving this state because it costs to much to live here and there are no good jobs, but want to hit us up for more money. Am I the only one seeing a pattern here?
I thought the republican party believed in smaller government and less taxes? Cause he said that this $10b is going to create over 10k new jobs. Government jobs?

My head is spinning on this one.

Welcome to the new politicians, no more Republicans or Democrats, just self serving demagogues.

That's what I caught too. That is based on the value of the car, basically grading on a curve. I'm all for it. Our roads suck ass and always have. I travel I-196 a lot. It has gotten better from south haven to Holland and around St. Joe, but the rest of it is complete garbage.

Also if they do anything with no-fault insurance, pretty much anything at all, rates should go down. If they don't, its just the insurance companies. My buddy in Plainfeild Il pays a 1/3rd of what I do on way more $$$ vehicles.

Registration is already based on value.

My 93 Benz cost more for plates than my 08 HHR.

snyder is starting to appear to be a total douche.

All we need is to tax people on their miles driven, add a gas tax, and increase vehicle registration fees....brilliant.

Unlike most, he's actually proposing ways to fix something instead of just saying it needs to be fixed like 98% of other politicians. Does it suck, sure, do the roads suck, absofuckinglutely. Find a way around federal prevailing wages and our road money would go 1.5 times further..........

Make convicts repair the roads.

Need more workers? Arrest more criminals.

Before they raise taxes to pay for the road repairs, they need to clean house in MDOT, and the list of preferred contractors that MDOT uses.

The engineering of our current E-ways, and surfaces, are pathetic at best. Build something that will last more then 5 years, not something designed to be resurfaced in 5 years.

I saw convicts doing road side brush clean-up near my moms in Saugatuck a few weeks back. Meth head with a chain saw is one thing, meth head with a steam roller? No thanks.

Down my way they are building a 5 mile + (?) by pass around a small town. This is on a two lane highway. This will include atleast one bridge.

There is no congestion.

I'm thinking they can't maintain the roads now, why add more?

Michigan's personal income tax code is so butt simple a ten year old can understand it. However it only takes a couple of pen strokes to increase the gas tax, which is the simplest way to create a "user fee" or "use fee" to fund road reconstruction. What you should be bitching about is that we already have one of the highest state gas taxes in the midwest and they are talking about making it higher.

Don't spend your insurance savings yet - one of the cost factors in your no-fault auto insurance is a piece that covers your medical expenses (or someone else's) in the event of a car wreck. The end of no-fault means your personal health insurance will then become your primary insurance for an auto-related issue, and that will surely drive up the cost of your health insurance.
